Which tools show whether AI assistants recommend your products?

· Measured 1 to 25 September 2026 and 4 October 2026

It depends on where the recommendation happens. A tracker that asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity your buyers' questions shows whether those answers name your product and which sites they cited. Product cards inside an AI shopping feature, and what Amazon's own assistant tells a shopper inside Amazon, are separate surfaces with their own tools. By their own sites, 11 of the vendors we follow describe product-level tracking, and three name Amazon's assistants.

Asked which software tracks Amazon product recommendations, the engines named Goodie (11), Profound (10), Alhena (6) and Semrush (6) most, across 20 answers from 1 to 25 September 2026. Asked which platforms show whether a product appears in AI shopping recommendations, they named Profound (9), Ranketta (7), Finseo (5), Scrunch (5) and Semrush (5), of 20. Below: what each kind of tool can see, the answers and sources behind both questions, and how to choose.

Key takeaways

  • Asked about tracking Amazon product recommendations, the engines named Goodie (11), Profound (10), Alhena (6) and Semrush (6) most, of 20 answers.
  • Asked about seeing products in AI shopping recommendations, they named Profound (9), Ranketta (7), Finseo (5), Scrunch (5) and Semrush (5) most, of 20.
  • 11 vendors describe tracking products, items or SKUs on their own sites; Goodie, Ranketta and Dageno name Amazon's assistants.
  • Asking an assistant your buyers' questions measures its answers. A shopping feature's product cards and Amazon's own assistant are separate surfaces, tracked by separate tools.

Three places a product gets recommended

“Does AI recommend my product?” covers three different surfaces, and no single measurement sees all of them.

1. A general assistant answering a buying question. Somebody asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity or Google for the best product for a need, and the answer names some products and stores. You measure this by asking the same questions and reading the answers: who was named, and which sites the answer cited. In our own workspace, which asks four engines through their APIs and reads AI Overviews off Google's results page, a stored answer is that written answer and its sources.

2. A shopping feature inside an assistant. Some assistants show product cards with prices and retailers. Which products appear there, and in what order, is a product-level question. By their own sites, these vendors track products on each surface:

Google AI Mode shoppingGoodie
Perplexity ShoppingGoodie
Microsoft CopilotScrunch
Amazon's assistant: Rufus, now Alexa for ShoppingGoodie, Ranketta and Dageno

AthenaHQ names ChatGPT Shopping on its own site too, for publishing content aimed at it.

3. A marketplace's own assistant. Amazon answers shoppers with its own assistant in its app and on its website. It was called Rufus until Amazon renamed it Alexa for Shopping on 13 May 2026. That is a third surface again. Asking ChatGPT or Gemini about Amazon products shows what those assistants say, not what Amazon's assistant shows on Amazon. By their own sites, Goodie, Ranketta and Dageno name Amazon's assistants among what they track. Before buying for this, ask for a sample report that names the exact Amazon surface, the product and the question.

Each vendor's own description of its product and shopping features, word for word, is on our list of AI visibility tools for online stores.

What the engines recommended for the two store questions

We track both questions word for word and ask five engines every run. From 1 to 25 September 2026, the Amazon question drew 20 answers and the shopping question 20. The tools named most, counting each answer once:

Our count covers 42 AI visibility vendors. For the Amazon question especially, the engines also named tools outside that list, each in a handful of answers, so read these as counts of the listed tools rather than a census of every tool. Greater Than Services was named in none of these 40 answers.

On 4 October 2026, after four engines had moved to newer models, the Amazon question drew:

7 of these 16 top entries are the sites of AI visibility vendors on our list; the rest belong to other companies, publications and communities. For a store, the useful reading is the same as for any brand: the pages answering for your category are the ones to be listed on, and which websites ChatGPT cites shows how to find them for your own products.

How to choose

  1. Where your buyers ask. A store that sells on its own site and through Google needs the general assistants and AI Overviews covered. A brand that sells on Amazon also needs Amazon's own assistant covered, which takes a separate tool.
  2. The product or the brand. If buyers ask for a kind of product, you need to know which product was recommended. If they ask where to buy, whether your store is named may answer it.
  3. Your catalog as the input. Tracking products starts from knowing which you sell. Peec AI, AthenaHQ, Writesonic, Ranketta and Alhena describe taking a catalog, feed or store connection.
  4. Proof of the surface. Ask for a sample report that shows the surface, the product, the question and the date. “Shopping visibility” can mean any of the three surfaces above.
  5. The answer itself. A visibility number cannot tell you why a competitor's product was picked. The stored answer and its sources can.

If the gap is your own product pages, state in plain text what a buyer asks about, such as price, availability and who the product is for. Then mark it up as a Product: how to add JSON-LD, including Product markup.

How we measured this

Our methodology: these are buyer questions we track for our own product in our own workspace, asked as a buyer in the United States. Each figure on this page names the sample it comes from:

  • September: 391 answers to 20 buyer questions from five engines, in four runs on 1, 2, 10 and 25 September 2026. They are the same answers our ranking of AI visibility tools counts, asked through the same models.
  • 4 October 2026: one run of all 25 questions we track now, including five added on 25 September. 125 questions went out and 104 answers came back. ChatGPT answered 21 of 25, and Google's results page could be read for 9 of the 25 questions, 8 of which showed an AI Overview. Missing answers are left out, never counted as misses. The engines had moved to newer models on 29 September: ChatGPT gpt-5.6-luna, Claude claude-sonnet-5-5, Gemini gemini-3.6-flash and Perplexity perplexity/sonar.

The questions quoted on this page, exactly as the engines were asked them:

  1. “Best AI visibility software specifically for tracking Amazon product recommendations from AI assistants?”
  2. “Which platforms let me see if my ecommerce product appears in AI shopping recommendations?”

Cited means the website was among the sources the engine returned for that answer, counted once per answer however many of its pages were used.

Pages are the addresses ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews write into the answer itself. Claude, Gemini and Perplexity return their sources as citations, of which our workspace keeps the website and not the page, so page lists cover those two engines only. Tracking codes such as utm_source are removed.

Named means the tool appears in the answer's own words, matched the way our ranking matches it. Links are removed first, because a link to a vendor's blog is a source and not a recommendation. A tool named in the question is not counted for it. We match 42 AI visibility vendors plus our own product, so a tool outside that list is not counted however often it appears.

Where this can mislead. We chose the questions, and we sell a tool in this category, so read these as one company's measurement rather than a census. Answers came through each engine's API or Google's results page, which is close to what the consumer apps show but not identical, from one country in English.

Nobody paid to appear on this page, and no vendor saw it before it was published. Our editorial rule is to describe every vendor only in the words of its own site. If a figure or a description here looks wrong, tell us through the contact page.

Where Greater Than Services fits

Our own product, so read this as the vendor's description, not part of the measurement above.

Greater Than Services is a workspace per brand that puts your buyer questions to five AI engines every week, records which answers named you and what they cited instead, shows your Google rank beside each answer, and drafts the fixes. In the count above it was named in none of the 40 store answers.

  • If you need to know whether the assistants name your store or brand, it asks your buyer questions every week and records which answers named you and which competitors came up instead.
  • If you need the sites the engines read for your category, it lists the sources each answer cited, so you can see the store lists and reviews behind an answer.
  • If you need a page for a buyer question where you are not named, the GEO Writer drafts it and can send it to Shopify or WordPress as an unpublished draft, so nothing goes live until you publish it.
  • If you need Google as well, your Google rank for the same searches sits beside each answer, and Google AI Overviews is read off the live results page for your country.

What it does not cover: AI shopping cards, individual products, and anything inside Amazon, including its assistant, Alexa for Shopping. If those are your question, the tools above that describe them are the ones to try.

Plans start at $49 a month, billed yearly, for one brand on ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews; Growth and Agency cover all five engines. The three-day trial is on one brand and needs a card.

Questions people ask

Can I see whether ChatGPT recommends my products?

Yes, in two ways. Ask it the questions your buyers ask and record whether the answer names your product, which a tracker can do every week. Or use a tool built for its shopping feature: by their own sites, Profound, Writesonic and Goodie track products in ChatGPT Shopping.

Can I track Amazon Rufus, now Alexa for Shopping?

By their own sites, Goodie, Ranketta and Dageno name Amazon's assistants among what they track. Asking ChatGPT or Gemini about Amazon products is a different measurement: it shows what those assistants say, not what Amazon's own assistant shows a shopper inside Amazon. Amazon renamed Rufus to Alexa for Shopping on 13 May 2026.

Which tools do AI engines recommend for tracking Amazon product recommendations?

Across 20 answers from 1 to 25 September 2026, the engines named Goodie (11), Profound (10), Alhena (6) and Semrush (6) most. On 4 October 2026, Goodie and Profound led.

Does Greater Than Services track products?

No. Greater Than Services is our own product, and it tracks whether AI answers name your store or brand, which sites they cited and who else they named, with your Google rank beside each answer. It does not track shopping cards, individual products or Amazon's own assistant.
